The excellent reviews by PSM and Ian Mapp below still hold, and it is the frontage that steals the show here, I think. The service was good at and a good clientele in at both of my recent visits. Four real ales on, with an excellent Bingley 1848 Stout. A must do.

Doing what Micros should do, quite well. I am looking for interesting and unusual beers and this is catered for nicely with a collection of 4 cask, several keg and a proper menu of international and national bottles. 25% discount for takeaways. Loyalty card with the 10th pint free (works in their sister establishment, the waiting room, which I am sure to visit before the week is out.

Spacious shop conversion, with nice glass frontage etched with "craft beers, gins etc". Lovely u shape setup of several Chesterfields in the corner to the right of the bar.

Friendly staff and punters on our visit.

Another lengthy essay from PSM below saves me having to desribe the pub, which is quite large for a micro. There's more decoration around the walls now 3 years on, but essentially it hasn't changed much. 4 ales available, friendly service and also a friendly dog on our visit. Both the beers we had were in good nick. We'll probably call in again next time we're in town.
